We support more than 27,500 people of all ages and life stages, and circumstances. We do this through 28 Vision Australia centres in Victoria, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia; 30 clinics; and through outreach programs in the Northern Territory and Tasmania.

An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Community Supports Programs Manager to join our team at our Queensland head office in Coorparoo.

This position is responsible for the day to day management and coordination of the Disability Services Grant (due to expire in 2019). This role will coordinate and work with clients and Vision Australia staff to ensure a seamless transition of Clients from program onto the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

This position will also coordinate and manage other funding programs including the Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) initiative from the Queensland Government. This requires close liaison with external stakeholders as well as management of staff to deliver program outcomes.

Responsibilities

As our Community Support Programs Manager you will:

Manage and coordinate staff and clients in the Department of Communities Child Safety and Disability Services funded program including all staff recruitment and liaise with Department of Communities as required to fulfil contractual reporting requirements
Manage and coordinate staff and clients in the Skilling Queenslanders for Work Project including all staff and participant recruitment and liaise with Department of Education and external stakeholders as required to fulfil contractual reporting requirements
Develop a sustainable service offering for recreational and in-home support service post the implementation of NDIS
Work with Clients in the Disability Services funded program to transition to NDIS
Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have:

Degree or equivalent experience in health/community services management;
Extensive experience in influencing and implementing strategy and change initiatives;
Highly experienced in managing a disability services workforce including volunteers, administrators and support staff;
Highly developed negotiation and conflict resolution skills, including an understanding and an ability to manage challenging behaviours;
Strong planning skills including sound time management skills
