About the role
Kinma Primary and Preschool is looking for an Education Leader.
Kinma is a leading progressive school in northern Sydney. We use whatever learning modes suit our students. We do not use competitive tools in teaching or reporting. Kinma has 15 full-time and part-time teaching staff.
Our Education Leader is our principal teacher, working with and reporting to the Manager. The Education leader role involves leadership in teaching practice, professional development and problem solving for our teachers.
To be successful in this role you will need to have many years experience of classroom practice, an academic and professional commitment to alternative and progressive education and have personal qualities that support you in complex personal interactions.
About the role
The role is directly responsible for:
• Teacher development and training
• Oversighting teacher programming and planning
• Sharing, and providing leadership on, teacher success and challenges in relation to their professional roles
• Helping teachers to incorporate Kinma’s core principles into their everyday practice
• Developing and reviewing school policies relating to education practice, in keeping with Kinma’s constitutional principles and practices
• Leading educators nto cultivate parent understanding of Kinma’s core principles
Skills and Experience
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Extensive experience in primary teaching
• Experience navigating NESA and managing education practice within its requirements
• Expertise on social and emotional issues affecting young people
• Proven success in working collaboratively as a member of a team
• High level personal skills in managing relationships, including with and between students, staff, and families
• Commitment to and knowledge of alternative/progressive/democratic education

• Ongoing enthusiasm, initiative, and innovation

Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualifications in Primary Education
• Current WWCC (employee level)
