About the role

The Victorian Council of Social Service (VCOSS) is seeking a Policy Advisor to drive policy, engagement and advocacy on behalf of VCOSS members in policy portfolios including the social impact of climate change and emergencies.

 

The Policy Advisor will join the VCOSS policy team, reporting to the Manager Policy and Research. The position will identify policy goals and emerging issues, provide high quality public and social policy reports and advice, and work collaboratively with VCOSS staff and member organisations to identify opportunities to strengthen policy development, advocacy, service delivery, capability and partnership opportunities.

 

The successful candidate will have experience working in a policy or advocacy position, high level written and analytical skills, and a proven ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders. The position requires relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent, and knowledge of the social impact of climate change and emergencies.

 

This position is full-time (negotiable). Salary and conditions of employment are governed by the Victorian Council of Social Service Enterprise Agreement 2017 and VCOSS policies and procedures.
