The opportunity
Wild at Heart is seeking expressions of interests from prospective volunteer board members. We are offering a rewarding opportunity to help lead our passionate and committed team in making a difference to the lives of marginalised Australians with disability through skills development, creative expression and community building.
These are volunteer positions.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for two volunteer board members (one general member, and one to take the position of Treasurer) ready to make a commitment of approximately 4-6 hours per month over a two-year term. The commitment comprises:
- attendance at six board meetings each year (in North Melbourne, Victoria)
- other contributions to the work of the organisation between formal board meetings
- for the Treasurer, periodical liaison with the Executive Director and Chair and oversight of the financial health of the organisation.
We’re particularly keen to hear from people with expertise in any or all of:
- lived experience of disability and/or mental illness
- being a carer or family member of a person with disability and/or mental illness
- financial and legal risk management
- marketing and fundraising
Prior experience in a governance or board roles highly regarded.
