Circle Green Community Legal (Circle Green) is a community legal centre in Western Australia providing state-wide specialist legal services in employment, workplace discrimination, residential tenancy law, family and domestic violence, and humanitarian services aimed at assisting people who are otherwise disadvantaged in their access to legal services.
Our Purpose is to create a system, place, and space to ensure a safety net of best practice legal advice, education, and advocacy in our specialist fields.
We are the first to achieve a merger of specialist, statewide, not for profit legal practices in Australia. We are now in an exciting position where we can offer people in Western Australia specialist legal services in the areas of employment, tenancy and humanitarian in one organisation.

About the role
This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified individual with substantial experience in employment and workplace discrimination law to become the Acting Principal Lawyer in our Workplace team. You will be responsible for providing leadership, management, and oversight of Circle Green’s Workplace legal practice. You will also identify, manage, and guide strategic advocacy, law reform and policy initiatives of Circle Green.
Please note that this role is based in Perth, Western Australia on a parental leave contract for maximum term of up to 11 months.
About you

The right candidate will:
- Admitted, or eligible for admission, as a legal practitioner in the Supreme Court of WA and eligible to hold an unrestricted WA practising certificate.
- Have more than 5 years post admission experience in Employment and Workplace Discrimination matters.
- Demonstrated ability and substantial experience in providing and supervising legal advice, further assistance, and representation.
- Ability to lead a legal practice, including awareness of relevant professional practice requirements.
- Understanding of and sensitivity to people from diverse cultural, socio economic and linguistic backgrounds, including those with complex trauma.
