About the role
As we move into a new stage of growth for the organisation, we are seeking two additional board members with expertise and commitment to support the development of Lively’s business model. We recognise that the upcoming Aged Care reforms present Lively with a window of opportunity to demonstrate how aged care can and should be delivered across Australia. In particular, we are seeking board members with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Innovative forms of fundraising
- Youth and/or employment services
- Marketing or communications
About the organisation
Lively is a not-for-profit social enterprise (est. 2016) that connects generations, creates meaningful employment for young jobseekers (helpers) and increases the connectedness and inclusion of older people (members) in our community. We train and employ helpers (aged 18–25) to provide services that help members maintain social connection, independence and wellbeing. Through this process, we also build connections that enable members to share their rich life experiences, stories and knowledge back with the helpers; fostering intergenerational understanding and respect, as well as young people’s personal development.
Boasting several key long-standing relationships with Local Government organisations in Victoria, and as a successful philanthropic grant funding recipient, we are moving into an exciting growth period for the organisation. We are seeking to inject our existing Board with the fresh perspectives and expertise of two additional board members.
