Development Manager
Hayes Theatre Co is on the lookout for a Development Manager to join our exciting team, reporting to the General Manager and the Board. The Development Manager role is to meet and exceed annual fundraising targets through a strong development strategy.
The main responsibilities for this role are; •
- In consultation with the General Manager and the Board, prepare, drive and monitor the Hayes Theatre Co Development Strategy •
- Develop and maintain excellent working relations with the staff, board and other stakeholders in order to meet the KPI of the Development Strategy •
- Research and identify Trust and Foundation prospects, local, state and federal grant opportunities, develop relationships, write grant applications and ensure appropriate reporting.
- Optimise existing and build new relationships with private donors, ensuring they receive the highest standard of customer care. •
- Research and identify potential corporate partners and/or sponsorships – create proposals and presentations, negotiate and secure agreements and ensure these relationships are nurtured and serviced to the highest standard. •
- Write and ensure the delivery of all grant acquittals, including ensuring that all participants are fully briefed on guidelines and objects required for such acquittals. •
- Provide monthly board reports including quantifiable data and anecdotal impact statements to assess the success of funded initiatives. •
- With the General Manager, set and manage development budgets. •
- Maintain up to date and accurate, financial, donor, prospect records •
- Meet set timelines and targets. •
- Ensure all development activities comply with fundraising and tax law and in line with ethical and good practise. •
- Recruit, train and manage development interns and/or staff as and when required. •
- Other duties as directed from time to time.
The successful candidate will have;
- Proven fundraising experience in the not for profit sector, ideally the performing arts. •
- Strong strategic planning and time management skills •
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and negotiating ability •
- Expertise in relationship management with corporate stakeholders •
- Energetic and highly motivated individual with strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail. •
- A strong interest or passion for the performing arts, in particular Musical Theatre
