Palliative Care Australia represents all those who work towards high quality palliative care for all Australians. Working closely with consumers, our Member Organisations and the palliative care workforce, aim to improve access to, and promote the need for, palliative care.

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in the ACT. In this role you will be tasked with continuing to build the brand and presence of Decision Assist, a program funded by the Federal Government to provide specialist palliative care and advanced care planning advisory services nationally to aged care providers and general practitioners caring for recipients of aged care services.

Your role will see you at the cutting edge of this important program by establishing and nurturing key relationships within the health care sector and ensuring the work of improving staff confidence, competence and access to knowledge of those providing care will continue and support and change the lives of those it represents.

 

Your role will include:

  • Prospecting new clients through networking, marketing, word of mouth and prior relationships to sell the concepts of Decision Assist
  • Setting up and organising meeting with key influencing decision makers within the healthcare sector such as Aged Care Managers, Clinical Directors, GP’s and other key influencers that may be able to utilise the services of Decision Assist
  • Building upon existing users of Decision Assist to ensure continued buy-in to the program
  • Sharing knowledge and information on the program including its features, advantages and benefits
  • Present to Senior Management team on the progress / challenges and roadblocks in on-boarding new clients
  • Ensure that the contract for Decision Assist meets all terms and conditions of the program for funding purposes.

 

To be considered for this role, we envisage you will have at least 5 years of experience building strong, senior relationships with new and existing businesses within the health care and NGO space. This is a senior position working closely with the CEO, so you will bring a wealth of experience to this role in order to succeed. You’ll be a seasoned business development professional who is a confident networker and an equally confident and skilled influencer.

At a minimum you will know how get the best results and achieve the right outcomes with limited resources, you understand how funding for the NFP sector works and the key metrics you need to meet, to ensure a service delivery project succeeds.

This is a national role, so travel interstate for the duration of the contract on a regular basis will be required. You’ll be joining a small team so will be willing to pitch in to ensure the job gets done. You will thrive with challenges and be excited about the opportunity to manage and deliver on results time after time.
