Located in Canberra, CSSA is the Church’s national body for community services in Australia. Representing and supporting Catholic social services, CSSA is an agency of the Australian Catholic Bishops’ Conference and is responsible to the Catholic Bishops through a Board appointed by the Conference. CSSA is also in liaison with Catholic Religious Australia. Supported by a dedicated policy team, the CEO plays an active social advocacy role in accordance with the Church’s teachings on social justice.

With the appointment of the current CEO to a major role at St John of God Healthcare, after two years of outstanding service to CSSA, the Board now seeks another energetic, thoughtful and faith-filled person with strong leadership and networking skills to further her very successful work in positioning CSSA and its agencies into the future.

The CEO will have particular responsibilities for leading Catholic agencies toward continued collaboration and partnerships within the sector and with government and to advance the reach of services into communities of need. A key focus for the CEO will be to continue to lead the network in the articulation of Catholic identity and mission in the delivery of social services.

Excellent working relationships with Australian Catholic bishops will be a requirement of the role.
