Our client is a highly respected child-centred and family-focused community services organisation that works with and supports children and families. They are one of the most respected child welfare organisations in Victoria and today have acquired a distinguished reputation for their record of leadership and innovation in the design and provision of integrated child welfare and integrated early childhood services.

Reporting directly to the Executive Manager- Early Years, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a high quality early childhood curriculum and attachment focused care within a specialised early years education centre servicing children at risk of abuse and neglect. You will also;

  • Provide high quality mentoring, coaching and supervision to staff individually and as a group to plan and implement the curriculum in line with the National Quality Standard.
  • Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of the early year’s curriculum.
  • Lead and facilitate an integrated, multi-disciplinary practice model that includes liaising with other services and professionals, regular care plan meetings, family conferencing and reviews of work.
  • Support and model reflective practice where appropriate with staff team in order to sustain continuous improvement in practice.
  • Plan and lead professional development and team building experiences across the early year’s program.

 

The successful candidate will be tertiary qualified and have demonstrated experience in program planning, managing, evaluation and improvement in an early education and care setting. You will also possess sound knowledge of legislation, policy and frameworks relating to early education and care services. Your comprehensive understanding of child development (0-6 years) and theoretical foundations that underpin high quality early education will be vital for this role.
