The General Sir John Monash Foundation was established in 2001 with an initial contribution from the Australian Federal Government together with further contributions from corporate and private sponsors and donors. Its purpose is to raise funds for, and to administer, Australia’s own postgraduate scholarships- the John Monash Scholarships- to foster leadership, expertise and international networks, as well as build Australia’s capabilities for the future.

The John Monash Scholarships are awarded to outstanding Australians with leadership potential who wish to study overseas and are amongst the most important postgraduate scholarships currently available in Australia.

About the role

Executive Assistant and Administration Officer

The General Sir John Monash Foundation provides and administers post graduate scholarships for Australian scholars across all disciplines with a focus on supporting the development of academic and leadership skills.

This is a key role in a small and very busy team that requires a range of skills. You will provide support to the CEO and other executive staff (including taking board meeting minutes), take responsibility for the administration around events and marketing and communications including social media. You will also be the primary administration contact for Scholars currently studying. Other duties include keeping the office running smoothly, maintaining office supplies and looking after practical issues such as IT support and printer maintenance.

As the first point of contact with the Foundation in many instances a confident and cheerful demeanour is important as is the ability to interact appropriately with range of people who support our Foundation.

Key skills include data collection and analysis, efficient and accurate written communication and IT skills that include social media platforms, websites, CRM systems as well as Office and Excel.

If you are highly organised, comfortable with rapidly changing demands and short deadlines, have strong writing skills and can manage and administer marketing functions we would love to hear from you.

The position is full time and based in the Melbourne CBD
