Lalor Living & Learning Centre Inc. (LLLC) has been providing quality education and social engagement activities in its local community since 1987. Located in the southern end of the City of Whittlesea, LLLC is a community based incorporated not-for-profit association. The organisation has enjoyed a period of stability and consolidation and is ready for a new phase of growth and innovation.

This welcoming, friendly and professional Centre is a Registered Training Organisation (TOID 3902), Learn Local education provider and a Neighbourhood House. We provide nationally accredited and pre-accredited adult education courses, in particular English, Literacy and introductory level Information Technology. The Centre also provides Occasional Childcare and After School Tutoring programs. Lalor Living & Learning Centre is very supportive of learners of all ages from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds and has a diverse staffing profile.

The Centre employs approximately 27 staff with an average annual income of $550,000. The Centre derives income through more than five government funding programs, from fees, the City of Whittlesea and has access to a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) Fund.

Lalor Living & Learning Centre has various partnerships with other organisations, is involved in a number of networks and frequently operates special projects.

About the role

POSITION PURPOSE

Working under the delegated authority of the Committee of Governance, the Executive Officer (Manager) is responsible for achieving the organisation’s Vision, Purpose and Strategic Goals and Objectives. This includes:

– maintaining the ongoing viability and good practices of the organisation

– generating the next phase of growth and innovative practice

– maintaining the positive environment for all stakeholders which is safe, empowering, team-oriented and task-focussed.

The Executive Officer will provide leadership to the organisation in the areas of:

– people

– programs

– innovation

– outreach

– operations
