Dietetics in Australia is self-regulating and DAA administers the accreditation of Australian dietetics university courses, recognition of overseas qualifications and the Accredited Practising Dietitian program.

Call for applications for appointment to the role of external, independent DAA Board Director

DAA is the national peak body representing dietitians in Australia. DAA supports its members by providing a range of services including continuing professional development opportunities, an annual national conference, access to a variety of resources, professional advice, networking opportunities, representation, advocacy and promotion of the profession.
Dietetics in Australia is self-regulating and DAA administers the accreditation of Australian dietetics university courses, recognition of overseas qualifications and the Accredited Practising Dietitian program.
The DAA Board currently comprises 8 elected directors who elect the Chair and Vice Chair of the Board. A recent change to the constitution permitted the appointment of up to two external directors. A Skills Assessment undertaken by the Board highlighted the need to recruit high level skills in Business Development including skills in Finance generally.
DAA seeks expressions of interest from suitably skilled individuals to be appointed to the Board of Directors.
To be eligible for appointment as an external Director, you must: not currently be, or have previously been, eligible for membership of DAA; not hold any kind of nutrition and / or dietetics qualification; not have any personal or professional relationships or positions which may constitute a conflict of interest or compromise your independence. The term of appointment to the Board shall be for a period of up to two years, with eligibility for reappointment.
