About the organisation
Diabetes Australia is the national body for people affected by all types of diabetes and those at risk. It partners with consumers, health professionals and researchers to raise awareness about diabetes, promote prevention and early detection strategies, advocate for better management of diabetes, support and promote research, and reduce the overall impact of diabetes.
Diabetes Australia delivers a wide range of services through the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) on behalf of the Australian Government and provides practical assistance and information to over 1.2 million Australians currently registered with diabetes. Diabetes Australia is a registered charity.
About the role

Reporting to the CEO, the key focus of your role will be to significantly increase Diabetes Australia’s non government revenues by attracting and retaining high-value corporate and philanthropic donations and partnerships. You will
- engage with leaders in business and philanthropy to harness major gifts and partnerships;
- develop new, high-value fundraising strategies such as “signature” campaigns; and
- steward major gifts and planned giving.
Experience and skills required
You may work in a relevant role with a “for purpose” organisation or be a senior sales executive in a relational, commercial environment. You are:
- entrepreneurial, energetic and self-motivated;
- self-confident to “make the ask” and negotiate at board and CEO level;
- an excellent strategic relationship builder and networker;
- able to demonstrate a significant and relevant track record; and
- passionate about reducing the impact of diabetes – the epidemic of the 21st century.
