Court Support for Kids Worker
Part time – 3 days per week
12 month fixed term contract

McAuley Community Services for Women, a ministry of the Institute of Sisters of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea, is committed to advocating for a better, safer and more just society, through working with women and their children affected by family violence, mental illness or homelessness.
Funded by philanthropy, the Court Support for Kids (CS4K) program provides diversionary play opportunities in Magistrates Court settings for children who are accompanying their mothers completing family violence related matters. This position will service Sunshine Magistrates Court and will collaborate with CS4K workers in other courts.
The successful candidate will be suitably qualified and have demonstrated experience in a similar role. Ideally applicants will be able to demonstrate:
• A tertiary qualification in Social Work, child Psychology, Early Childhood Education,
Occupational Therapy or related discipline
• Substantial demonstrated experience working directly with children of all ages
• Demonstrated experience working with women and children experiencing Family Violence
• Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
• Experience in working within a strengths based and trauma informed framework
• Experience in risk management including client and staff safety, confidentiality and duty of
care
A Police check, current Working with Children’s Check and a current driver’s license are required prior to commencement. Salary is SCHCADS 4, level dependent on experience. Salary packaging is available.
