Travellers Aid Australia is a not for profit organisation and we are well known in the social services, public transport and disability sectors for our knowledge and expertise in travel related challenges for travellers in need since 1916.
We are currently seeking expressions of interest for a potential member with a strong financial and accounting background to sit on our Finance Audit and Risk Management (FARM) Board Sub-committee.
The role contributes to the committee’s:
 oversight of budgets, management accounts and annual financial statements;
 duty to ensure that proper accounting records are kept, financial resources are properly controlled, invested and spent, in line with good governance, legal and regulatory requirements;
 Contribution to the development and implementation of Travellers Aid Australia’s financial, and business development strategies;
 Overseeing the organisation’s financial risk‐management process;
 Overseeing the financial responsibilities of the CEO.

Person Specification:
 A qualified auditor or accountant
 High standards of professionalism, integrity and objectivity
 A confident and adaptable individual with the ability to support Board members and staff

The time commitment you would need to make includes attending a monthly FARM Meeting and attending the Annual General Meeting.
