Due to an exciting internal promotion, we are now hiring for the above mentioned position. The Executive Officer to the National Mental Health Consumer and Carer Forum (NMHCCF) and
National Register of Mental Health Consumer and Carer Representatives is responsible for strengthening policy and advocacy positions and capacity for mental health consumers and
carers working with Mental Health Australia. Key responsibilities of the role include providing leadership and secretariat support, and ongoing engagement with members of the NMHCCF and National Register.
The key requirements of the position include:
- Formal qualifications in a relevant discipline and / or substantial related experience
- Proven ability representing or advocating on behalf of members
- Able to work collaboratively and constructively with a wide range of stakeholders including consumers, carers, community groups and government
- Highly developed communication skills, written and oral
- Excellent interpersonal skills with particularly strong influencing, negotiating and networking skills
