Lord Somers Camp and Power House (LSC&PH) is one of Victoria’s oldest member-led community based organisations. Established in 1929, LSC&PH implements programs across the areas of: Youth Development, Lifelong Learning, Positive Ageing, and Community Development. With an active volunteer base of 1,200 people and an alumni of 11,000, the organisation works closely with volunteer members to create and deliver programs that benefit people of all ages and the wider community. Espousing the values of Fun, Friendship, Care, Belonging and Acceptance, LSC&PH strives to create a stronger more inclusive society through service to others.

About the role

  • Located on the scenic Albert Park lake in the heart of Melbourne
  • Salary negotiable up to high $100,000s

Reporting to the President and Camp Chief you will work collaboratively with the Board and its sub committees to drive the strategic direction of the organisation and position it for further growth. Interacting with a diverse range of stakeholders across the public and private sectors, a key priority of yours will be leveraging your relationships with stakeholders to secure funding and lease arrangements for a new state of the art Power House Community Hub building on Albert Park Lake. In addition, you will lead a small team of staff in Albert Park and Somers, ensuring your team is engaged and LSC&PH has the optimum structure in place to deliver valuable outcomes for the community.

An accomplished leader, you are respected for your empathic and genuine nature, and have the ability to relate to and work effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds. You are driven to achieve results, including the financial sustainability of your organisation, through successful fundraising and commercial partnerships. In addition, your enthusiasm and hands on nature will enable you to drive innovation and community action and ultimately work with the Board and volunteers to support LSC&PH as it seeks to grow.
