Down Syndrome Australia was established in 2011 as the peak body for people with Down syndrome in Australia.
Our purpose is to influence social and policy change, provide a national profile and voice for people living with Down syndrome, and to build resources and knowledge capacity of the state and territory Down syndrome associations.
We work collaboratively with the state and territory Down syndrome associations to achieve our mission. Our vision is an Australia where people living with Down syndrome are valued, reach their potential and enjoy social and economic inclusion.
About the role
Communications Manager: Down Syndrome Australia
Down Syndrome Australia is seeking an experienced, organised professional to take on the role of National Communications Manager. This position will be responsible for the delivery of a project focused on the development of a national information web-portal for families and people with Down syndrome. The Communications Manager will be responsible for consultation with stakeholders, overseeing the development of the information portal, evaluation, reporting and developing a communications strategy. The Communications Manager will have responsibility for the development and delivery of overall communication strategies and initiatives for Down Syndrome Australia.
This is a rewarding role for a person with demonstrated expertise in Communications, the preparation and delivery of websites, and who has a strong understanding of current issues in the disability sector. Experience in delivering similar projects will be beneficial.
