Refugee Advice and Casework Service (RACS)is a community legal centre and we have been protecting the human rights of people seeking asylum in Australia since 1987 by providing free legal support. Our dedicated lawyers, experienced in human rights law, are committed to ensuring that vulnerable people who have fled from persecution and are seeking protection in Australia, gain access to equal and fair representation before the law. RACS is the only dedicated organisation in NSW providing legal support at no cost to people seeking asylum. We provide protection visa application assistance, legal advice to transferees from Manus and Nauru, legal support to people who arrived as unaccompanied children and are now on Nauru, family reunion assistance and a judicial review referral service. We advocate for systemic reform. Our mission - RACS exists to help people seeking protection in Australia by providing free, specialist legal assistance. About the role

Job Summary
The primarily focus is to enhance the objectives of the Fundraising Manager (FM) and Executive Director (ED) in all aspects of communication, events and fundraising.

Reports to Fundraising Manager (FM)
Working relationships All RACS staff including solicitors, Finance & Operations Manager, Accountant, IT Officer; Volunteer Coordinator.
Delegations Volunteers

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Communications & Marketing In collaboration with FM:
• Design, create and implement concept and content for public-facing marketing and communications (online and offline) including:
 emails
 direct mail
 brochures
 social media
 website content
 videos
 promotional material.
• Consult with internal teams to develop client stories for content.
• Posts social media content daily
• Handle digital media including:
 Website
 Google Adwords
 micro sites such as Gofundraise.
• Media: liaison with, field, coordinate and log media requests
• Provide creative input into branded merchandise and manage stock and e-store.

Fundraising In collaboration with FM:
• Identify and implement creative opportunities to increase subscriber base, raise funds and acquire new RACS supporters.
• Report on the various fundraising channels (google analytics, search engine optimisation

Events • Manage calendar of community events (e.g. Newtown festival), and co-ordinate RACS’ participation and involvement including recruiting, training and managing volunteers to represent RACS at events.
• Work with FM to manage RACS-run fundraising events and speaking opportunities.

Representation of RACS • Attend events on behalf of RACS
Finance • Ensure RACS merchandise is accurately accounted for with regards to stock control and sales.
• Ensure all fundraising activities and events monies are correctly accounted for
• Ensure donation receipts are issued when requested and/or required
• Full ownership of E-store transactions, Paypal transactions and reconciliation with finance.
Essential Criteria • Experience as a communication and marketing professional
• Proven high level written and oral communication skills that show a commitment to plain English
• Experience working in online environments including producing and managing web content, using content management systems and social media, and producing digital communications
• Experience with Google Analytics
• Experience using graphic design packages, Adobe creative suite.
• Committed to refugee & asylum seeker causes
Desirable • Experience using Salesforce
• Experience using video editing software.
• Aware of the challenges faced in current refugee environment
• Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
