Cire Services, one of the region’s largest and most respected Education Services providers, is now seeking to appoint a new Chair and Board Members.
The term for an appointed Chair or Board Member is 3 years, with the opportunity for re-appointment.
About Us
Cire Services Inc. is an advanced community based, not for profit, registered charity. Cire operates a range of services to meet community needs through education and the provision of services in the East of Victoria.
Cire is a child safe organisation.
Our organisation currently supports clients comprised of students, adults and children from six weeks of age through the provision of a wide range of services covering all aspects of development and training with a focus on vocational education for those entering or re-entering the workforce.
We have been successful in supporting over 900 individuals find a new path over the last three years. Our parenting programs and child care education is sought after. Our school is gaining a reputation for being one of the best of its kind in the Eastern Region.
Cire Training is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and offers accredited, pre-accredited, workskills and leisure courses.
Cire’s Community House is the key centre in Yarra Junction which aims to empower people to learn, connect and belong. It is a friendly, vibrant and inclusive community hub which offers an extensive ranges of services, education and leisure programs and community development activities that reflect community needs and interests. Programs include parenting education, environment education, health and wellbeing support activities and craft and hobby tuition.
In addition, Cire Community House facilitates a range of supports and services on a daily basis, such as public internet access, Centrelink access and free bread and meals.
We are an active member of Neighbourhood Houses Victoria (NHV) and the Community Houses Association of the Outer Eastern Suburbs (CHAOS).
Community School is a registered independent school providing secondary curriculum to students in an alternative school environment.
Cire Children’s Services provides children’s services for long day care, pre-school programs, occasional care, before and after school care and vacation care.
Cire has a strong focus on the professional development of over 160 employees and provides learning opportunities for employees at all levels.
Chair
We are seeking to appoint an experienced and committed Chair to lead the Board of Governance into the next phase of development of the organisation. The Chair will be a leader in the governance of not for profits and demonstrate experience in either
- Finance
- For Social Purpose Business Development,
- Education and Training or
- Executive Management in the not for profit sector.
In addition, we are seeking two Board Directors to join its Board with experience in either;
- Finance,
- Social Purpose Business Development,
- Board Secretary role,
- Education and Training,
- Strategy and Policy
- Marketing
As Chair and Board Member you will be expected to:
- Align with our Mission, Vision and Values
- Have the time to commit to Board meetings (once per month in Lilydale) and represent the Board at various Cire events
- Be accountable to the Cire community, employees, volunteers, clients and their families or carers/guardians for the effectiveness, integrity and viability of the organisation
- Have a strong understanding of governance roles, duties and obligations
- Have strong communication, EQ and interpersonal skills together with the ability to operate collaboratively in a team environment
