ABOUT THE ROLE

Overview

The Database Administrator has responsibility for supporting the Business Directorate by ensuring the new Salesforce CRM delivers the best solution in the management and delivery of up to date Business Development data and information. 

The position reports into the Marketing, Communications and Fundraising team but also has responsibility across other teams within the Directorate for support, training and championing Salesforce.

The position will be 30hrs (4-day equivalent) per week across 5 days per week.

The successful applicant will:

  • assist the Business Directorate to achieve best practice in the management of leads, contacts, opportunities and accounts.
  • ensure that all income across the business directorate is accurately captured, tracked and reconciled with our financial system.
  • produce quality reports and charts for pipeline reporting used by the Executive team and for The RFW Board reporting.

The role will have a focus on the complex multi-channel data sets (Face-to-Face, telemarketing campaign data, third party fundraising etc) that are required for fundraising, however it will also provide Salesforce assistance to, and champions the database needs, of the Business Directorate as a whole.

This is a hands-on role that requires a person with familiarity of all aspects of Salesforce and the ability to be able to understand a business objective or problem and be able to effectively translate and communicate the Salesforce solution. This role will be required to communicate closely with the RFW BI&IT team and to proactively contribute to, and monitor, the impact of relevant configuration changes.

There is a strong focus on working with the Fundraising Manager to ensure Salesforce can provide the data analysis, importing, data cleansing, campaign reporting and financial reporting that is required to drive a successful fundraising strategy. As well as undertaking segmentation of data for fundraising appeals and ensuring prompt donation processing.  The fundraising team have increased regular giving activity by 98% this calendar year and Salesforce is an integral part of this growing part of business.

Essential Criteria

  1. Demonstrated experience in a Charity/Not for Profit organization, specifically within a fundraising team;
  2. Experience with Salesforce (Not for Profit Success Pack), Payments2Us , Duplicate Checker, data imports from agencies and third party fundraising platforms, and other Salesforce Apps;
  3. Demonstrated strategic thinking and exceptional problem solving ability such as implementing a Salesforce CRM and transitioning manual processes to Salesforce;
  4. Demonstrated high level attention to detail with a focus on ensuring data accuracy and integrity for reporting.
  5. Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, able to work unsupervised, or closely within teams while managing competing priorities and ad hoc requests.
  6. Demonstrated high level database reporting and data analysis experience.
  7. Demonstrated ability to evaluate data trends and effectively communicate insights and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to establish relationships and achieve outcomes within, and across, teams Directorates.

Desirable Criteria

  1. Experience working with supporting the integration of multiple systems, including financial systems
  2. Demonstrated understanding of data segmentation and extraction for fundraising appeals.
  3. Experience working with large data sets containing transactional data.
  4. Experience with Salesforce plugins such as Mailchimp, Room Management System (RMS), Campaign Monitor, Mercury SMS, Webmerge, or Conga.
