The Organisation
  
Neuroscience Research Institute (NeuRA) are a renowned medical research institute striving to prevent and cure brain and nervous system disease affecting millions of Australians. Through leadership, excellence and innovation in scientific research in their world class Sydney research facilities their contribution to improving global health outcomes continues to develop. Their work being underpinned by a diverse and innovative fundraising program.

The Role
  
Working closely with NeuRA’s Foundation Director and senior researchers, you will coordinate all aspects of building relationships and applying for funding from trusts, foundations and corporate partners.
  
You will identify prospects and with an understanding of funding priorities prepare proposals that align with the values and goals of the relevant funding bodies and NeuRA’s research projects.
  
You will build a pipeline of funding opportunities and work with the Foundation Director to nurture relationships with trusts and foundations and corporates in order to build these income streams.

Skills Required
  
This role would suit a business development professional looking to use their skills in a cause related environment. Your experience may come from the corporate sector or a corporate partnerships or trusts and foundations fundraising role in a not-for-profit organization. You will possess business development experience and be competent at writing compelling business proposals. You will be looking for a part-time, four days per week position.
  
Your key skills and experience will include:
  

  • Strong prospect research skills,
  • Be intuitive, with an ability to identify opportunities
  • An ability to confidently engage stakeholders through the business development cycle
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly business writing ability with good attention to detail
  • Highly organised, mindful of processes and an ability to plan and meet deadlines
