Chief Executive Officer

We are delighted to partner with Caxton Legal Centre to recruit a new Chief Executive Officer for this well respected and iconic Queensland institution which has been operating for over 40 years and is one of Australia’s leading community legal centres. 

It’s not every day that a unique and exciting opportunity like this one presents itself. Our ideal candidate will be a passionate advocate for the principles of social justice and have a desire to represent the interests and reputation of the Centre and its clients.

You will have an accomplished record as a practising lawyer with a minimum of ten years relevant legal practice experience and a highly developed knowledge and understanding of the community justice sector and the socio-political environment in which Caxton operates.

As CEO you will lead the design and delivery of Caxton’s annual operational plan and will work closely with the Management Committee and Leadership Group on strategic planning, annual reporting, risk management, program development and operational policy.  Essential is experience in operational direction, governance, strategic planning, financials, leadership, cultural change and stakeholder management.

Managing an organisation of 40 employees and over 200 volunteers, this role is supported by the Chief Operating Officer and Legal Practice Directors of Human Rights and Civil Law, and Family and Elder Law.
