The Strategy and Advocacy (S&A) team amplifies the work of SVA by leading our strategic policy and advocacy agenda, supporting scale ambitions and driving our knowledge informed impact agenda. 

The position
We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Research Associate to support the delivery of research analysis for SVA’s systems change program of work. Reporting to and working closely with the Director, Strategy & Advocacy, the primary purpose of the position is to support SVA’s drive to understand and change the structural causes behind a key issue in our community: older women experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The Research Associate plays an important role in researching and supporting the development of SVA’s position in the broader national debate, ensuring they are based on combined SVA experience and the best evidence available, while producing high quality research, reports and working documents to inform SVA’s systems change program of work.
  
Who you are
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a proven ability in compiling quantitative and qualitative desktop research and analysis. We are seeking previous coordination and reporting experience combined with an applied knowledge of project management principles. You will be skilled in research, analysis and synthesis of information and knowledgeable in preparing policy and research briefs and presentations to support SVA’s systems change projects. To be successful in this role you will be effective at prioritising and meeting deadlines and a willing learner able to work across a wide variety of activity. This unique role provides exposure to an interesting and rewarding scope of work addressing disadvantage in Australia.
