About the role
Board Chair and Directors
The Thin Green Line Foundation (voluntary)
The Thin Green Line Foundation is an independent not-for-profit organisation, with a mission to Protect Nature’s Protectors by providing vital support to Park Rangers and their communities who are the front-line of conservation. We work predominantly in developing nations and conflict zones, and with Indigenous Park Rangers within Australia and abroad. As the charity arm of the International Ranger Federation, we are the only organisation solely dedicated to providing Rangers worldwide with the assistance they need and deserve.
The Thin Green Line Foundation is seeking a new Board Chair and Directors to continue guiding the delivery of the Foundation’s strategic plan and significantly increase support to Rangers and their families around the world.
We are looking for strategic thinkers with experience in scaling an organisation and a strong alignment to Thin Green Line’s mission and values.
Our new Chair will be an excellent leader and communicator, and have time available to support and manage performance of the General Manager as well as the Founder. They will bring strategic thinking and experience to lead the development of the Foundation’s board and governance. With knowledge of relevant conservation and humanitarian matters, and understanding of the not-for-profit sector, they will also lead the development of the Foundation’s strategy.
Our new Directors will also have previous Board experience. They will provide leadership and advice both at Board and Committee level and will be prepared to roll their sleeves up to support the operations team.
While we encourage anyone with an interest to apply, we are particularly looking for those with experience in:
– marketing, brand development & communications
– philanthropy and fundraising
– business development
– finance
– international law and advocacy
This is an ideal opportunity for professionals with a passion for conservation who are seeking an opportunity to help shape a dynamic and well-respected not-for-profit organisation with international reach.
The Thin Green Line Foundation is based in Melbourne, Victoria and therefore our new Chair will ideally be Melbourne-based or able to travel to Melbourne on a regular basis. We are seeking applications for Directors nationally. For more information about our work, please go to www.thingreenline.org.au
