Our mission is to improve the lifestyle of people on homelands by caring for country, and preserving language and culture through the delivery of services to improve housing, health, education and roads. We administer some 50 grants and manage a suite of businesses and programmes.

We are on the hunt for an inspirational leader to join us as Manager Housing, Homelands and Construction.

About the role:

The position is responsible for driving a successful strategic and operational agenda to increase housing upgrades and construction contracts for homelands and Maningrida.

On a typical day, this role will be:

  • Responsible for budgets and P&L
  • Significantly increasing the development of new housing and ongoing maintenance programmes
  • Strategically pursuing partnerships with government, non-government and construction networks to generate successful tender and grant submissions
  • Reviewing, analysing, interpreting and updating all Government Contracts and Agreements
  • Developing a regional strategic and operational plan that sets targets and includes work plans to develop and deliver appropriate housing and maintenance programs for BAC
  • Using your extensive project management principles and systems to plan and construct new build contracts, repairs and maintenance programmes

 

About you:

With 5+ years’ experience in a senior leadership role, you will thrive in a diverse, challenging yet highly rewarding environment.

You will also have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A passion for working in a community-based role
  • Proven experience managing capital works, maintenance and tenancy programmes including financial and budgetary management
  • Experience in compliance, legislative and regulatory monitoring and reporting
  • Drive, passion and motivation to see your team succeed
  • Experience living in a remote community would be ideal
  • Strong cross-cultural awareness and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Current Drivers Licence, OCHRE Card and First Aid Certificate are required
