Orange Sky Australia (OS) is a not-for-profit organisation focused on the provision of free laundry and showers to people experiencing homelessness. We're growing, and fast. Since 2014, we've expanded our reach to every capital city in Australia and most recently, we have established Orange Sky New Zealand. Next steps include further growth in New Zealand, urban and remote Australia, and potentially elsewhere across the globe.
About the role
The Role
We’re always looking to increase our social impact and help more Friends on the street – striving to continually improve is in our DNA at Orange Sky.
This role is a key member of our dynamic, multi-disciplinary Operations Team, and vital to the smooth operation and improvement of services across Australia.
No day is ever the same, so the ideal applicant will thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment – we need someone who knows how to have lots of balls in the air that can’t be dropped, can think on the fly, and get creative to make things happen.
Reporting to the Program Manager, this key role in the Operations Team, in a nutshell, is responsible for:
- Contributing to Orange Sky’s social impact by representing Orange Sky in the community through public appearances, presentations and general representation
- Working alongside the team to ensure continuity of services, including support of a large volunteer base
- Planning, leading, evaluating and monitoring the delivery of new operational and special projects
- Engage internal and external stakeholders and project partners as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Our HQ is located in Brisbane, but we’re open to the right candidate working remotely. As a national role, some occasional overnight travel will be required.

Our perfect fit has tertiary qualifications, or relevant experience, ideally has experience in a similar role within a fast-paced organisation within the community services sector, and working with a large volunteer base.
