Outback Futures is a Brisbane based not for profit organisation established to bring regular, professional and consistent allied and mental health services to rural and remote communities. Their model is unique and visionary, focused on renewing hope, building resilience and strengthening outback community. Their approach has been so well received that it has the recognition and respect of all levels of government and has substantial philanthropic backing. To support this growth and enable the organisation to expand reach and impact we are seeking experienced candidates to be considered to join the organisation in the new role of Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Board, the role will see you take responsibility for driving strategy, refining the community facilitation working model, all programs and practice. You will lead key external relationships with government, community and regulators, ensuring that any change, operational or strategic plans support the continuation of the exceptional reputation and values that have made Outback Futures a respected and trusted organisation.
To be successful in this role, you must have a connection to the regional and rural context. You will have led organisational change and developed scalable operating models and structures to support growth. You will have managed complex stakeholder relationships and be able to maintain relationships with stakeholders and staff that are geographically dispersed. Solutions oriented, your leadership style will be assertive and compassionate – you will have a growth mindset and a passion for delivering positive community and individual outcomes.
Outback Future’s ethos is supported by active and deeply committed Christian values and to that end we are seeking interest from candidates who align to these values and beliefs. The role offers the opportunity to utilise your broad leadership skills and play a leading role through an exciting and critical time for the organisation. We expect this role to grow with the organisation.
You will be required to hold a Blue Card and to pass a criminal history check.
To apply please submit your resume and a 1-2 page document outlining why you are the best person for this incredible role. Confidential enquiries should be made to Natasha Olsson-Seeto or Ben Thurlow on 07 3305 5800.
