As the Financial Accountant, your contribution will be to enable our vital programs, projects, and research, to succeed and thrive through the provision and management of back end services. You can achieve this by delivering quality service to our users, maintaining strong internal controls, keeping on top of compliance obligations, and facilitating Orygen’s operations. 

You will have great communication skills and are always willing to assist clients, stakeholders, and fellow team members; including filling in for staff, and being flexible in the work and the prioritisation of work. Teamwork is the key in working together toward a common vision. 

As a guide, remuneration of $81,588 – $88,315 per annum is offered, dependent on skills and experience; NFP generous salary sacrificing opportunities are also available to the successful candidate.

About you

As a Financial Accountant, you will have:

Highly developed knowledge of general accounting, accounting issues, and accounting standards. 

A proficiency in reading, understanding and implementing organisational policies, rules, and regulations. This should include the ability to synthesize concurrent policies to arrive at a reasonable position, and understand downstream impacts of policy changes. 

Knowledge of general financial processes from other organisations, and be able to integrate this knowledge into the Orygen context to build and improve upon systems.
