About the Program

The Brisbane Multicultural Arts Centre (BEMAC) is dedicated to presenting, producing and developing culturally and linguistically diverse artists and art-forms within QLD. BEMAC delivers an annual program that includes activities funded by Arts Queensland, Australia Council for the Arts and Multicultural Affairs Queensland, which are delivered in partnership with CaLD artists and communities. BEMAC is a subsidiary of Access Community Services Limited, part of Settlement Services International (SSI) and is managed through their Arts and Culture function.

 

About the Role

The role is responsible for managing and delivering BEMAC’s first Stakeholder Engagement Plan as directed by SSI CEO and in line with BEMAC’s strategic goals to:​

  • Showcase social inclusion, promote cultural acceptance and drive social change.​
  • Organise, partner and support multicultural arts celebrations throughout Queensland.​
  • Increase economic outcomes and sustainability for artists and BEMAC.​
  • Champion and develop multicultural artists and activate Queensland Multicultural Centre (QMC) and regional spaces to connect with local audiences and increase BEMAC’s visibility.​

The role will demand a collaborative and flexible approach due to the diverse, fast-paced, and high impact nature of the organisation.

We need a motivated, collaborative, and flexible individual, with proven experience and a positive attitude to take on each new task, no matter how big or small.

 

Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Business, Management or other relevant qualifications​
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and relationship building with a diverse portfolio including government agencies, local councils, private sector, arts industry and community sector​
  • Experience working with artists, cultural practitioners and communities of CALD backgrounds​
  • Demonstrated solid project and time management​
  • Demonstrated and existing networks within the arts community​
  • High level communication, presentation and relationship management skills​
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and engage external and internal stakeholders at all levels
