Using your experience in case management, you provide short-term case management to a caseload of mostly mining and energy workers across Australia. Using a brokerage model, you will assess workers needs and issues and work with them to deliver an appropriate plan.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Providing short-term case management to workers using a brokerage model
- Refer workers to existing workplace services (for example, EAP) or other community services
- On a rostered basis and during office hours, answer the MATES 24/7 Telephone Helpline
- Work collaboratively with other Case Managers and Field Officers nationally, working across other industries such as construction and energy as required
- Provide on-site support through critical incident and/or postvention response
- Maintain regular Case Management records, building a resource database for case management
- Participate in relevant research projects and actively promote the MATES research agenda
Skills & Experience required
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work or Psychology, and registration (or ability to gain this) with relevant professional body (AASW or AHPRA)
- Demonstrated experience in case management and an in-depth knowledge of mental health
- A willingness to work with the existing LivingWorks ASIST intervention model
- Ability to deliver programs effectively and be comfortable speaking and presenting to groups
- A flexible and mature mindset, along with a calm, even-measured approach to working in a reactive environment
- The ability to work autonomously and manage your own priorities

Our client is a national suicide prevention organisation, focused on delivering evidence-based suicide awareness and prevention programs. They deliver an integrated program of community development and support, utilising training as a tool to raise awareness about suicide and mental health in the mining industry.
