About the role

The role:

Reporting into the Program Manager, TraCS, this full-time 1-year contract role will work closely with a large Early Years Manager based in Deer Park and deliver trauma informed support to kindergartens and early childhood services in the northwest suburbs of Melbourne.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide coaching and support to teachers and early childhood educators to work with children whose lives have been affected by trauma.
  • Create plans which support children to develop pro-social skills.
  • Support referrals and links to relevant services that support children and families experiencing vulnerability.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date client management and statistical records.
  • Proactively contribute to program developments and improvements.

Experience required:

  • A tertiary qualification in social welfare, with eligibility for membership of professional organization
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience providing high quality, complex case management to children, youth and families in the context of violence or abuse and trauma.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practice models and theories relating to children, families, trauma and violence or abuse.
  • Demonstrated experience in translating relevant and emerging knowledge and theory into practice.
  • Hold a current drivers’ license and willingness and ability to use own vehicle (expense reimbursement provided).
