About the role

This position leads and supports the financial, data and administrative operations of Pro Bono Australia. 

It is a virtual, part-time and yet absolutely vital role in our Award winning organisation. 

The role requires expertise in analysing, processing and reporting financial and non-financial information. You will ensure the integrity of financial information in accordance with regulations and standards,

Importantly, the role requires an ability to think strategically, exercise sound business judgment, and manage projects.

Pro Bono Australia has been an award-winning forerunner in the establishment of everything “for purpose” in the Australian community sector for the past 22 years and has transparency, ethical practice and values-based decision-making at the core of who we are. We are looking for someone very special for this role.

We require someone to work virtually an estimated 21 hrs/3 days/week FTE. This can be split between 5 days. How these days are structured is up for negotiation between the applicant and Pro Bono Australia. This means we need someone in the role who we can trust completely and has an excellent track record.

The role requires expertise in analysing, processing and reporting financial and non-financial information. You will ensure the integrity of financial information in accordance with regulations and standards, ensuring best practice and continuous improvement. 

The role also requires the ability to think strategically, exercise sound business judgment, and manage projects.

 

Key Accountabilities 

  • Overall responsibility for financial management, and collecting, interpreting and reviewing financial information 
  • Overall responsibility for management and reporting functions of  Salesforce CRM database
  • Annual Salary Survey data collection project management

 

Financial Management Responsibilities

  • Full responsibility for XERO accounting system (Accounts payable, reconciling bank statements, managing customer enquires in relation to the accounts, reporting and payroll processing).
  • Preparation of consolidated budgets and Cashflow management
  • Analysis of the financial results and commentary on performance
  • Maintain and monitor Salesforce CRM (automated processing of the customer invoices)
  • Managing data integration processes and reconciliations between the databases, as well as the consolidation of financials (presently integrations between WooCommerce, Salesforce and Xero)
  • Responsibility for debt collection process 

 

HR

  • Manage employment agreements
  • HR coordination as required

 

Office management

  • Manage company insurance and licence requirements and renewal of policies
  • External relationships with external accountants, banks, and statutory organisations
  • Oversee administrative policies and recommend changes as appropriate.

 

Database Management

  • Overall responsibility for the currency, accuracy, and data integrity of the Salesforce CRM database (management,  maintenance and updating)
  • Creation and revision of reports for Sales and Marketing teams  
  • Manage and create necessary processes to achieve efficiencies and improvements in data transfers between different databases
  • Ensure security, integrity and confidentiality of data

 

Salary Survey Project management

  • Manage the annual production of Salary Survey
  • Review, process and analyse the data collected as per production process

 

Position Requirements:

  • Strong finance/accounting knowledge based on relevant training with demonstrated experience in financial management and reporting, AR and AP
  • Demonstrated financial management skills in accounting functions such as accounts to trial balance, payroll processing and budgeting ;
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office suite and XERO. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Salesforce experience is desirable
  • Demonstrated team player who can work independently and with minimal guidance, but who also excels at consulting and coordinating with the team;
  • Ability to learn new systems and to drive cash flow, process and improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, be solution-oriented and have the ability to manage, prioritise and coordinate financial, database management and administrative activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness in transactions and reports
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all internal and external stakeholders in a positive and proactive manner
  • Excellent eye for detail and dedication to accuracy
  • The successful applicant would ideally have previous experience in a similar bookkeeping environment, especially having experience with Xero, bank reconciliations and BAS lodgement.
