Carinity has an opportunity for a skilled lawyer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be confident in supporting the work of a significant faith-based public benevolent institution. In this role, you will be responsible for the Governance framework of the organisation, working with the Executive Management team in areas of Privacy, Employment Law, and Corporate Contracts. The ideal candidate will have the ability to advise specialist legal advisors to act on behalf of the organisation, as required, and will have an in depth understanding of the Privacy legislation, as it relates to Carinity. The role will act as the Privacy Officer, staying abreast of relevant Privacy legislation and major case decisions.

What do I need for the role?

  • Bachelor of Laws, or other eligible law degree from a recognised Australian University.
  • Current admission as solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland, holding an unrestricted practicing certificate
  • Experience in working with a charity and within the aged care, education, youth and community industries.
  • Extensive knowledge in the areas of contract, governance, employment and privacy law.

Location: Carinity – Head Office

Carinity Head Office is based in the northern city fringe suburb of Gaythorne, close to shops, cafés and a variety of public transport options. The campus is surrounded by trees and offers ample free parking on site and is only a short drive from the Brisbane CBD.
