About the role

  • Contributing to a dynamic and highly respected cultural organisation dedicated to sharing the stories of Brisbane.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engagement strategies to build and maintain long-term relationships with key local communities including (but not limited to) Teens and Seniors, First Nations peoples, people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds, and people with disability.
  • Facilitate consultation with community groups and education institutions to inform program development and continuity of engagement.
  • Lead the development of community engaged initiatives within the Artist in Residence program, Learn program and other projects.
  • Identify partnerships with education institutions and community services to support student engagement with MoB’s Learn Assist program.
  • Establish and coordinate evaluation frameworks for programs and initiatives.
  • Establish multi-stakeholder partnerships to strengthen the reach and impact of community engagement programs.
  • Represent Museum of Brisbane at community events and networking opportunities across the industry.
  • Take all safety measures when performing duties to ensure the safety of yourself and others, and comply with Museum of Brisbane’s Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies, procedures, and Government legislation.
  • Other duties from time to time as required.

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will demonstrate all or most of the following:

  • Proven experience in community development and engagement within an arts and cultural context.
  • Proven experience in facilitation and co-designed programs with an understanding of inclusive and accessible engagement practices across diverse communities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage strategically with a broad range of stakeholders and contribute positively to team culture.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and working with multi-stakeholder partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and deliver multiple projects at any given time from initial planning stage through to completion.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail with problem solving skills.
