Expressions of Interest:  Auburn Youth Centre Board Director

Auburn Youth Centre Inc. (AYC)  is an independent charitable organisation governed by a Board of Directors. We are recruiting two new directors.

For 30 years AYC has been supporting young people aged 12-24 living in and around the Cumberland LGA. Our vision statement, “a harmonious community where all young people belong and have the opportunity to fulfill their dreams,” drives our work. AYC runs a variety of programs and activities including a drop-in-centre, school holiday programs, music programs, psycho educational group work in schools, counselling and casework. We have recently commenced a youth led social enterprise, AYCafé. In 2018 we supported 1050 young people who were born in over 60 different countries, the Cumberland LGA being one of the most culturally diverse and disadvantaged communities in greater Sydney.

AYC is presently seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) to fill casual vacancies on the Board of Directors.  Key strategic directions being driven by the AYC Board include the development and growth of a social enterprise, revenue growth and diversification, movement towards becoming a Registered Training Organisation, the development of enduring partnerships in the NGO and corporate sectors and upgrading policy and procedures. • Registered training compliance and regulatory activities
  • NSW Education curriculum and ATAR
  • Business Development / High end business ngotiations

To reflect our community demographics we strongly encourage people newly arrived in Australia and those of CALD background living or working in and around the Cumberland  LGA to apply.
