Organisation name : The Lab Network
The Lab (www.thelab.org.au) is an after-school technology and social club for 10-18 year-old young people who identify as being on the autism spectrum. The Lab provides a positive social environment based on participants doing what they often love most, playing and exploring video games and digital technologies. Mentors support the exploration of participants interests and an experience that increases their capacity for social engagement and the development of friendship skills. Founded in 2011 The Lab has grown from a single venue to over 30 that offer The Lab across the country. The Lab Network was formed in 2015 to support the administration and governance existing and new Labs around the country.
