Australian Podiatry Association (APodA) is the peak body for podiatry in Australia which leads and advocates for the podiatry profession to advance foot and lower-limb health.

APodA has recently undergone a period of significant structural and constitutional change as part of a merger with its five State associations to form a consolidated, unified, national podiatry association and is now seeking to expand its presence and profile.

APodA has in excess of 2000 members, 20 staff including an experienced CEO, and is in a sound financial position with a strong balance sheet.

APodA is a company limited by guarantee with a head office in Melbourne and another four offices throughout Australia. APodA is currently governed by six directors, five of which are APodA members (podiatrists) and one is an independent director.

Directors meet four times per year, usually in Melbourne, with occasional teleconferences to address specific items between meetings.

APodA is seeking an additional independent director with:

1. Sound director experience, preferably in the not-for-profit, healthcare or related sectors
2. Expertise in Marketing and Communications

Director’s fees are not paid, however the position offers a director the opportunity to play a key role as part of a national and well respected organisation with a long history of success in the health industry. Costs of attending meetings will be paid by APodA.
