About the role
Eastern Health values consumer representatives contribution and a consumer representative on the MEDIC project would be highly appreciated as they would be able to provide insight from the patients’ perspectives on what works for them and in turn this will have a rippled effect on patients, carers and their families.
It is considered really important to ensure that the consumer voice is present and heard during the planning and design of the MEDIC (More Efficient Documentation for Improved Care) project through participation in the working group, to ensure that the information that will be provided to patients is helpful, accurate, relevant and easy to understand. This will be the focus of this project and the consumer representative will assist by contributing with their ideas, suggestions.
They will be side by side with the staff members and work as a team for the delivery of great care, everywhere, every time.
About the organisation
Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest metropolitan health services
Since it was established in 2000, Eastern health has played a key role in the provision of public health services in Melbourne's Eastern and Outer Eastern suburbs. It works with community healthcare providers, such as General Practitioners, Community Health Services and affiliated Healthcare agencies. Geographically, Eastern health covers the municipalities of Boroondara, Knox, Manningham, Maroondah, Whitehorse and Yarra Ranges.
We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services, including maternity, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care, community health and statewide specialist services to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, gender identity and healthcare needs.
