About the role
We are looking to recruit a new volunteer with Marketing experience to join a charity board as an unpaid volunteer Board Advisor.
Commitments:
● Time: Approx 2-3 hours a week
● Term: I will be a Board Advisor for 6 months with the view to then become a voting Board Director to this role for up to two years following my signing of the Board of Directors agreement.
● Regular meetings ○ I will attend at least 75% of board meetings, committee meetings, and special events. Board Meetings with volunteers around the world are held on Skype on Monday evenings 20:00 AEST on a monthly basis, sometimes held face-to-face in Melbourne with virtual option. ○ I will attend Marketing Communications Sub-Committee meetings, held every two months on Zoom in the evening with volunteers around Australia.
You will bring:
● Knowledge & experience in Marketing ○ This includes but is not limited to: social media marketing, website (Squarespace), newsletter (Mailchimp), merchandise sales, fundraising events/campaigns
● Passion for PDI and understanding of our ethos
● A drive to grow awareness of our organisation’s work to lead to further investment and therefore greater outcomes in community development in rural Eswatini
● Passion for working with young people ○ You will be working with key volunteers: Social Media Coordinators, Website Manager, Newsletter Coordinators and other board members and general volunteers
● Enthusiasm and approachability
● Organisational skills
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Professionalism
● A strong sense of self-driven initiative to help charity
