About the role

Loneliness is a big problem for a lot of people. We exist to help free people from loneliness. This task is enormous.

Which is why we’d love your help.

Are you a seasoned social media specialist, keen to apply your experience to a not-for-profit organisation that’s committed to freeing Australians from loneliness?

If so, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re on the hunt for up to six energetic, responsive, enthusiastic and empathetic social media gurus to job share the management of one of our four social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn). You’ll be highly familiar with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and/or LinkedIn and you’ll be a creative and empathetic soul and a super organised, solid copywriter with a strong attention to detail and ability to think outside of the square.

You’ll understand the importance of following a robust content marketing strategy and you’ll have a passion for following (perhaps even creating) and implementing the latest relevant social media trends to facilitate growth across all social channels. You’ll also have a penchant for cultivating a solid content library and growing social communities via empathetic engagement and compelling content.

The Social Media Specialist role is a volunteer position, so we are more than happy to work around your availability. Each of our social accounts will be managed by two Social Media Specialists, which will allow you to job share in whatever way suits you and your ‘buddy’ best.

At this stage, we’d love you to contribute around 4 hours of your time per fortnight (a combined total of 8 hours between both Social Media Specialists). This time will be spent on copywriting, image curation (or receipt of images /content from other team members), scheduling posts and engagement. You will have your own reliable computer and smart phone (incl reliable internet access). Since you’ll be working from home / home office, we will happily accept applications from all over Australia.

You will work with one of our Board Members, who will provide weekly updates and guidance and nurture you through the process and expectations from day one. Together, you’ll continue to grow the Friends for Good brand by delivering the 2019/20 social content strategy. It’s an exciting time to join the team!

Does this sound like an opportunity for you? Well, that’s great to hear! We can’t wait to hear all about you.

Applications close 5pm (AEDST) Monday 11 November 2019. Be sure to include your preferred social media platform in your response.
