EXPERIENCED VOLUNTEER DOCTORS URGENTLY NEEDED FOR NORTHERN VANUATU

Churches of Christ Medical Santo urgently needs experienced volunteer doctors to support the provision of health services to the people of northern Vanuatu.

We need doctors who have sufficient experience to adapt to the limitations of practicing in a developing country, who will respect and work with the local culture and who are able to provide supervision to less experienced practitioners and to students. Experience in developing countries or rural and indigenous health settings would be an advantage.

Medical Santo health services are provided in northern Vanuatu through a GP clinic (including on call after hours for emergencies) located in Luganville on the island of Espiritu Santo; working alongside the staff at the Northern Provincial Hospital in Luganville; and through rural outreach clinics on neighbouring islands.

Churches of Christ Medical Santo provides accommodation in Luganville and insurance cover for travel and the duration of the assignment. Volunteers are responsible for the cost of their travel and living expenses while on assignment. There is a $300 AU fee which covers all administration.

Urgent placements are needed from December 2017 and throughout 2018. A minimum of one month is desirable. Medical Santo is committed to a balanced lifestyle for volunteers and there are many opportunities to explore this rich cultural and physical environment. Families are also very welcome!

The registration process can take up to 3 months so please take this into consideration when planning dates to volunteer.
