As part of the Good Shepherd Fundraising team, the role of Fundraising/Bequest Coordinator has been created to develop and grow Good Shepherd’s bequest program and increase revenue generation and profile within the community.

To be successful in this role you will have the experience and ability to identify and build relationships between Good Shepherd and its supporters, your focus will be on increasing financial support through bequests and estates to ensure the successful growth of the bequest program.

In this role you will:
• Identify and build relationships between Good Shepherd and its supporters
• Be responsible for the acquisition, cultivation and solicitation of bequest prospects
• Be responsible for the stewardship of confirmed bequestors and their cash giving through personal donor engagement
• Utilise your diplomatic negotiating abilities to develop strong relationships with new and existing bequest prospects and donors
• Respond to requests for bequest information from donors/solicitors/others
• Organise donor events providing donors with information on the Good Shepherd bequest program and the latest developments of Good Shepherd
• Ensure that donor acknowledgement and involvement activities are implemented and managed in accordance with the annual plans
• Support the development of and maintain strong relationships with donors

The successful candidate must have:
• Demonstrated fundraising and bequest experience and success
• Demonstrated understanding of bequest programs, Estates and Wills
• Sound knowledge of fundraising legislation, practices and philosophy of charitable giving
• Proven track record in engaging and nurturing donors
• Friendly and engaging demeanour and the ability to relate to and build and maintain strong relationships with a broad range of age groups and backgrounds
• Strong communication, collaboration and negotiation skills with an ability to relate sensitively, compassionately and respectfully with all people (especially people of a senior age)
• The ability to work productively both autonomously and as a member of a team
• Knowledge of fundraising databases (ideally Raiser’s Edge)
