Common Ground is a collective of First Nations people changing systems through storytelling. We are a First Nations not-for-profit and team of six First Nations people.

Common Ground launched in 2019 as a humble collection of curated and original content found on our website. We have continued to evolve as a place of storytelling and education, to create opportunities for First Nations people to be authors on our terms.

Today we work on unique and impactful content and projects that centre First Nations storytellers and communities in innovative ways – bringing knowledge as old as time into digital spaces.

About the role

Reporting to the CEO, the Operations and Community Manager will work closely with the Common Ground team in supporting the team to deliver on strategic objectives by leading and strengthening business operations, financial operations and resourcing, as well as community management.

This role is integral to shaping a thriving community of First Nations team members and storytellers, through driving community management online and within our office space in Naarm (Melbourne). Alongside this, this role is responsible for the operational implementation of the business, funding and income generation, reporting, managing contracts and human resources.

The Operations and Community Manager represent a senior role in our team that is responsible for engaging and building strong relationships with First Nations community. They will also act as a manager of the Common Ground office located at Collingwood Yards. This hybrid role is covering a parental leave cover with potential to extend into an ongoing senior role.

This is an identified role for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
