About the role

We believe in the power of stories to change lives. Which is why the many levels of our 100 Story Building are dedicated to fostering confidence, literary expression and creative risk-taking amongst children, young people, llamas, mothcats and marmodogs.

As Communications Coordinator, your job is to illuminate the stories of children and young people in our programs, and to amplify their voices. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day marketing and promotion of the organisation and our activities.

You will be responsible for:

  • Day-to-day marketing of programs and organisation
  • Providing support to achieve audience development and community engagement outcomes

 

Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a related role
  • Professional communication skills, including high-level written and visual skills
  • An understanding of audience development and community engagement principles
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, manage projects simultaneously and negotiate with team members
  • A systematic and professional approach to work, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to use initiative and work autonomously within a team

 

These skills will be highly regarded:

  • Proficiency in multiple languages
  • Professional video/audio communication skills
  • Interest in and/or experience of analytics and data

 

About 100 Story Building:

100 Story Building is a centre for young writers in Footscray. In our very tall (or very deep?) building, we deliver creative storytelling workshops for schools, families and young people to support them in a love of reading and writing. Our mission is to provide opportunities for the most marginalised children and young people in our community to build the literacy skills, confidence and sense of belonging that are fundamental to future success.
