About the role
The Sydney Symphony Orchestra is the premier Orchestra in Australia, resident in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House. In 2018 the Orchestra is undertaking an extensive tour to Europe. In 2020 the Orchestra will vacate the Sydney Opera House for a period of 2 years whilst significant renovations are undertaken on the Concert Hall to improve the acoustics and the physical environment.
The Company is seeking to acquire new Corporate Partners and to increase revenue achieved through Corporate Sponsorship during the next 5 years. They are also seeking a dynamic fundraiser to articulate compelling cases for supporting the mission and activities of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. In order to achieve these targets the Sydney Symphony Orchestra has created two new positions:
The Chief Corporate Relations Officer is focused on driving new acquisitions, renewing current corporate partnerships and overseeing the servicing of the current Sydney Symphony Orchestra Corporate Partners. This role will drive a strategic approach to targeting new collaborations and alliances and be responsible for identifying key areas of opportunity and engagement with companies. Ref. 68272
The Chief Philanthropy Officer is responsible for raising $4 m plus in annual revenue and maximising future income potential from individuals, public/private foundations, and new donors to support initiatives and programs of the Company. Leading an area of considerable growth, the Officer will inspire their team, driving a structured approach to donor acquisition. Ref. 68273
To be successful in the roles candidates will possess:
- A strong ability to relate and engage with senior executives and board members
- Demonstrated experience leading and inspiring teams with the ability to create a proactive culture
- An innovative and dynamic approach with a drive to succeed
- An ability to introduce structure and process focussing on new donors and revenue opportunities
- A strong synergy with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
