About the organisation

Organisation Name : Saint Mary's Cathedral Choir

With a history dating to 1818, Saint Mary’s Cathedral Choir is Australia’s oldest continuing musical organisation. The Choir is unique in the Australian arts scene: there is no other fully-professional church choir, no other choir which sings so frequently, no comparable choir of men and boys. The Choir provides regular music in St Mary’s Cathedral, Australia’s largest Catholic church, and presents concerts, produces recordings, and goes on tour locally and internationally.

Saint Mary’s Cathedral Choir will celebrate its 200th anniversary in 2018. As part of its commitment to its continued and growing success beyond this very remarkable moment in the Choir’s history, its supporting body, the Palestrina Foundation, is looking to significantly build philanthropic support for the Choir.

About the role

  • Based in Sydney
  • Competitive salary and benefits offered
  • Are you a committed, self-motivated professional looking to make your mark in a significant fundraising role with one of Australia’s most accomplished professional choirs?

The Foundation seeks a new Development Manager who will have the opportunity both to set up and maintain an efficient back office operation for the Foundation, and to build relationships with donors across the philanthropic spectrum.

To be successful in this role your track record in fundraising or business development/marketing experience will be matched by excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the capability of establishing strong personal relationships both internally and externally. Your drive and proactive approach will ensure you work well both independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
