About the organisation
About Us
WorldShare is a Christian aid and development organisation that has been operating since 1943. We believe that God is the defender of the vulnerable and calls us to help those in need. Motivated by Jesus’ call to love our neighbour, we support local Christian partner organisations in developing countries around the world.
Our vision is to see lives transformed as people connect to love like Jesus. Together, we restore hope and life to the outcast and forgotten. We assist our partner organisations in their programs which care for the marginalised by protecting children, empowering women, providing education and health care and demonstrating the love of God. We bring Australian supporters together to resource and encourage our overseas partners through generous giving, faithful prayer and overseas partner visits. We focus primarily on international aid and development - protecting and helping those who are marginalised, mistreated and oppressed in developing countries.
About the role
The Supporter Relationships Manager helps new and existing supporters to connect deeply with WorldShare and its international partners through giving, learning, visiting and prayer. This role, along with the Head of Supporter Engagement, will develop and manage existing and potential supporter, bequest prospect and organisation and family trust relationships. This role is responsible for helping to develop and grow a major gifts program and high-value relationship fundraising.
About You
First and foremost, you are passionate about God’s call to care for the outcast and forgotten around the world.
Relationship management will be key to the success of this role as well as the ability to recognise opportunities to re-engage, grow and reactive lapsed supporters.
You are a people person. Whether it’s having one-on-one coffees with supporters, pitching to a small group, presenting to large groups or taking teams on overseas trips – as long as it’s centred around people, you’re in your element.
You will possess integrity, excellent communication skills, be highly organised, have sound business and financial acumen, be tertiary qualified and can engage people in the work of WorldShare.
With the Head of Supporter Engagement, you will break the strategy into the various steps and ensure each part is implemented, always keeping in mind the key stakeholders, our ministry partners and Australian supporters.
You will be a self-starter who gets excited about building new relationships with supporters. You will be driven by making a real connection with our supporters, understanding what drives them and how we can support them to make a difference. You will enjoy working with financial forecasts and will be able to deliver on financial goals under challenging circumstances.
You will be passionate about our vision and mission, driven to work with our supporters in order for hope and life to be restored to the most marginalised around the world, in the name of Jesus.
Exposure to aid and development would be an advantage but the right attitude and fit with our culture will be essential. Previous experience in project management and relationship management of some sort is preferred.
This is one of those great opportunities for someone who is looking to make a difference in their work. You will play a critical role in the development and future of WorldShare.
If this role sounds like you, we would like to hear from you.
