About the role

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Bequests Executive plays a key role in the development, management and growth of our Bequests Program by building and maintaining bequests activities and engagement of donors.

The Bequests Executive nurtures and manages relationships with potential and existing donors. The Bequests Executive needs to be able to work autonomously and have a high level of understanding and sensitivity to manage discussion and coordination of Bequests. Managing these relationships is key to the successful implementation of our Bequests strategy, as is developing and maintaining excellent record systems to capture and maintain donor information.

The Bequests Executive also plays an important role in supporting the Fundraising Manager on broader projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:         

  1. Maintain and nurture ongoing relationships with bequestors.
  2. Actively grow the Bequests program by engaging with potential bequestors from first contact through to engagement.
  3. Connect with bequestors during key milestones or life events (e.g. birthdays, illness, funerals etc.) and provide recognition and support on behalf of the Club.
  4. Work with the Consumer Operations team and relevant administrative personnel to maintain accurate and up-to-date database information.
  5. Work with the Events team to plan, prepare and execute Bequests Program events
  6. Work with members of the Marketing & Communications team to share and promote the Bequests Program.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  1. Significant experience in the not-for-profit sector with bequests or donor development programs, or experience in related business development roles
  2. Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships with individuals and their families over time
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and experience with or an understanding of database programs to support fundraising and customer management (e.g. Archtics)
  4. Strong written and oral communication skills
  5. High level of experience in customer and client service
  6. Availability to attend events and Match Days as required.  

This role will be subject to pre-employment checks including a Victorian Working with Children Check.
